LJCPA Elects New Trustee

Members of the La Jolla Community Planning Association elected Bob Collins as a trustee in Thursday's special election.

La Jolla resident Bob Collins was elected trustee of the La Jolla Community Planning Association on Thursday. The community group hosted a special election at the La Jolla Recreation Center to fill one vacant seat. The term expires March 2014.

Collins beat out two other candidates – Dr. Jane Reldan and Bob Steck.

Collins has served on numerous community groups including the La Jolla Community Planning, Planned District Ordinance, Coastal Development Permit, La Jolla Town Council and the Traffic and Transportation committees. He also served as the past director of Promote La Jolla.

In his candidate statement, Collins said, “CPA currently has a very good board with a great deal of background in our community. I hope I can add to that.”

He’s been a resident since 1957 and activity in the community since 1964, he said.

The newly elected trustee will be seated at the next LJCPA meeting in September.
