July Fourth Closures in San Diego County

Many government offices and facilities will be closed today for the Independence Day holiday.

In the city of San Diego, administrative offices, recreation centers and libraries will be closed.

City pools will be open from noon to 4 p.m., golf courses will operate on a normal schedule, the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitors Center will be open and so will Chollas Lake.

The Miramar Landfill will also be operational on its normal hours, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Curbside trash collection will be delayed one day.

Parking meters in San Diego will not be enforced.

County of San Diego parks and campgrounds will be open, but community centers in Fallbrook, Lakeside and Spring Valley will be shut down for the day.

The Lakeside and Spring Valley teen centers and the Spring Valley Gym will also be closed.

The Metropolitan Transit System said its buses and trolleys will operate on a Sunday schedule, which means most express and rural bus routes will not be operated. Detailed information is available at sdmts.com/Bus/detours/HolidayCalendar.asp.

For the North County Transit District, buses and the Sprinter train will run on a Sunday schedule. Extra Sprinter trains will leave the Escondido Transit Center at 9:33 p.m. and 10:33 p.m., while extra eastbound trains will depart the Oceanside Transit Center at 9:33 p.m., 10:33 p.m. and 12:23 a.m.
