The number of candidates for mayor of San Diego is rapidly growing. Two new candidates filed on Thursday Sharam Adhami, a 62-year-old auto dealer, and Sunny Enyoghwerbo, who runs a credit business, bringing the number to 13.
Councilman Carl DeMaio, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis and Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher, R-San Diego, took out their nomination papers on Wednesday. Rep. Bob Filner, D-San Diego, has not done so, according to the city clerk's office.
Those who take out the papers need to return them by March 8 to be placed on the June 5 primary ballot.
If no one wins a majority in the first vote, the top two vote-getters will face each other in the November general election.
