Hundreds Rally for Cross at Mt. Soledad
A rally was held to protest a recent 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling.
Hundreds of protesters rallied on Saturday to support of the cross atop Mount Soledad just days after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the use of the cross in the war memorial .
Speakers included local attorney Chuck LiMandri, who has defended the cross pro bono for six years, and Rep. Duncan D. Hunter (R-Alpine), who recently introduced legislation called the "" on Jan. 12 that would protect the controversial cross.
In addition, Rep. Brian Bilbray (R-Solana Beach), Assemblyman Joel Anderson (R-Alpine) and Assemblyman Marin Garrick (R-Solana Beach) were in attendance.
