Faulconer to Hold 'Meet the Mayor' Event in La Jolla

You can meet the mayor in La Jolla on Monday, June 16 at the La Jolla Recreation Center.

Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer will continue his “Meet the Mayor” series by meeting with constituents in City Council District 1 in La Jolla.

Faulconer will be joined by Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, who is visiting the neighborhoods of San Diego in her new position. District 1 includes the communities of Carmel Valley, Del Mar Mesa, Del Mar Heights, La Jolla, Pacific Highlands Ranch, Torrey Hills, Torrey Pines and University City.

Faulconer and Zimmerman will speak with San Diegans about their visions for the City and then listen to concerns and take questions from the audience.

The event is free and open to the public.

"The best way to run the City is to hear directly from the people you serve,” Faulconer said. "I want to talk with community leaders and everyday San Diegans about what the City can do to make their lives and neighborhoods better. I know how busy people are, so I am taking the conversation to them."

Faulconer will hold at least one "Meet the Mayor" event in each City Council district over the coming months. The series will continue regularly in neighborhoods throughout the City.
