Woman Struck by Bus in La Jolla Over Weekend

A 48-year-old woman suffered a severe leg injury Saturday when she was stuck by a bus in La Jolla.

The woman stepped into the street in the 2100 block of Avenida De La Playa at about 4:50 p.m. and was struck by a private bus driven by a 37-year- old woman, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment, Stafford said, noting that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.
