Video: Sea Lion Rescue in La Jolla

San Diego lifeguards and SeaWorld San Diego personnel cut a sea lion free from a fishing net in La Jolla on Friday. Watch the rescue here.

La Jolla Patch reported on a juvenile California sea lion entangled in a fishing net on Friday afternoon. That sea lion was rescued by SeaWorld San Diego personnel and San Diego lifeguards off a rocky beach in La Jolla.

Now we have video of the 175-pound sea lion being rescue off Devil's Slide, a rocky area between and .

Four rescuers rappelled down to the shore to reach the marine mammal. They freed the sea lion from the net and removed a hook that had punctured its lower lip, according to SeaWorld.
