Speeding Driver Crashes into Retaining Wall in La Jolla

The female driver broke her ankle and her male passenger suffered minor injuries.

A driver crashed her speeding car into a retaining wall on a La Jolla roadway early Wednesday, which broke her ankle and caused a male passenger minor injuries, a police officer said.

The 27-year-old woman was driving a Honda sedan west about 2:45 a.m. in the 1300 block of Nautilus Street, near Muirlands Vista Way, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.

Delimitros said the car struck the wall "due to the high speed she was driving."
