Sentencing Was Rescheduled for 'Backdoor Bandit'

The "Backdoor Bandits" moniker stems from the way the thieves in the robbery series almost always entered businesses through their rear doors.

Sentencing has been rescheduled to July 8 for Thomas Nelson, who pleaded guilty in connection with the 'Backdoor Bandit" series of more than a dozen armed holdups at restaurants and businesses in Clairemont and La Jolla, including Smashburger. 

The trio of "Backdoor Bandits" reportedly carrying out more than a dozen armed robberies at restaurants and other businesses from May to August of last year.
