SDPD's Labor Day DUI Checkpoint in PB Nets 6 Arrests

San Diego Police held three DUI checkpoints in San Diego over Labor Day weekend, including in Pacific Beach on Monday.

San Diego Police held a DUI checkpoint on the 2400 block of Grand Avenue on Monday from 4:05 to 11:37 p.m. on Monday and arrested six drivers for driving under the influence.

SDPD reported that 3,369 vehicles passed through he checkpoint, 1,818 of those motorists were contacted by officers, and 26 were detained for further sobriety evaluations. Police impounded eight vehicles, made six DUI arrests and one arrest of a motorists with an outstanding DUI warrant.

Funding for this DUI operation and two others held this weekend - in downtown San Diego and in San Ysidro- was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
