Lifeguards Rescue Four From Overturned Boat off Marine Street Beach in La Jolla

San Diego Lifeguard Lt. John Everhart said at least one passenger was transported to a local hospital for care.

Four people were rescued from a 22-foot boat that capsized off Marine Street beach in La Jolla on Wednesday afternoon.

San Diego Lifeguard Lt. John Everhart said lifeguards from the Children's Pool lifeguard tower, which is less than one mile north of Marine Street, noticed the overturned boat around 3:30 p.m.

Everhart said lifeguards responded prompted from both the beach and from a watercraft in the water. One passenger was transported to a local hospital. The other three people were brought to Mission Bay, where the boat will be towed.
