San Diego police released surveillance video Friday in hopes the public will help identify a burglar who stole a safe from an Avenida de la Playa restaurant earlier this month.
The safe was taken from a back office at at 2171 Avenida de la Playa about 1 a.m. July 12, according to a SDPD bulletin. The safe contained cash, police said without disclosing the amount.
Police described the burglar as a 30-something white man with a medium build. He wore a baseball cap, a golf shirt with horizontal stripes, dark pants and tennis shoes, police said.
Anyone with information about the burglary was urged to call SDPD at (858) 552-1700 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers offers tipsters a reward of up to $1,000 when their information leads to an arrest.
