A 61-year-old woman sustained a serious injury after being struck by a car on Torrey Pines Road Saturday afternoon.
The woman was reportedly stepping off a center median when she was struck by a blue Ford Focus heading westbound on Torrey Pines and Hidden Valley roads, according to San Diego Police Department Watch Commander Frank Cali.
The accident happened around 1:18 p.m. and lanes were temporarily closed for about 1.5 hours.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital. No alcohol was involved, according to Cali.
