Pedestrian Pepper-Sprayed and Robbed in La Jolla

A thief stole cash from a pedestrian near the intersection of Holiday Court and Villa La Jolla Drive.

A thief pepper-sprayed a pedestrian on the 3200 block of Holiday Court in La Jolla on Tuesday afternoon and allegedly stole cash from the pedestrian before fleeing the scene. The robbery was reported at 12:45 p.m., Tuesday.

The victim told officers that a slim man in a striped polo shirt robbed him and fled in a dark-colored four-door Mercedes Benz with tinted windows, said San Diego Police Detective Gary Hassen.

Medics treated the victim at the scene for exposure to pepper spray.
