No Pepperoni for Pizza Bandits: Attempted Robbers Get No Cash

Two armed men tried to rob the California Pizza Kitchen on Nobel Drive early Sunday, but employees had no cash, police said.

Two gun-wielding men attempted to rob a pizza restaurant near UC San Diego early Sunday, but the business had no money and the would-be robbers ran off empty-handed, police said.

The two suspects demanded cash from the employees of the California Pizza Kitchen at 3363 Nobel Dr. before 12:30 a.m. but fled because there was no cash, police said. 

Police said the suspects were both dressed in black clothing and had their faces covered.

No one was injured, San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.
