Naked Beachgoer Rescued From Cliffs in La Jolla

A 27-year-old woman was rescued without clothing from the cliffs about Black's Beach on March 22.

San Diego lifeguards rescued a naked hiker above on Tuesday afternoon. A 27-year-old woman was rescued about one-third the way down the bluff in the buff. Black’s Beach in La Jolla is a popular surf spot and has been considered a clothing-optional destination for decades.

The woman was uninjured but afraid to continue down the cliffs to the beach or return to the top, according to lifeguard Lt. Andy Lerum.

A female lifeguard was sent down the cliffs via safety lines with clothing for the trapped hiker, said Lerum. Once the hiker was clothed, she was lowered to the beach just north of .
