A motorcyclist was involved in a serious injury accident near La Jolla Village Drive and Interstate 5 on Saturday, according to San Diego Police. A 23-year-old man was reportedly splitting lanes at 4:36 p.m. The motorcyclist hit the rear of a vehicle in traffic, police reported, and then struck the center divider.
The motorcyclist sustained an open fracture on his lower leg and a laceration on his arm, according to police. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division is investigating the accident.
