Military Ordnance Found at San Diego Park

U.S. Marine and Navy explosive ordnance personnel arrived and took custody of the item.

Military ordnance was found on Fiesta Island in the Mission Bay Park area of San Diego on Saturday, police said.

The single piece of ordnance, some type of mortar, was found just after 4 p.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

U.S. Marine and Navy explosive ordnance personnel arrived and took custody of the item, he said.
