This is the second shooting at the Biltmore Hotel since August.

A man was in serious condition after he was wounded in a shooting Sunday night at a La Jolla motel, a San Diego police officer said.

The shooting at the Biltmore Motel at 5363 La Jolla Blvd. was reported at 8:23 p.m., said San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The victim was shot twice in the abdomen outside his room and was taken to a hospital for treatment, he said.

Police set up a perimeter around the motel to preserve evidence and in case the shooter had yet not left the scene, Delimitros said. They checked everyone who wanted to leave and did not allow anyone in for about an hour.
