A 35-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital to be treated for a leg injury he sustained in an approximately 40-50 foot fall on the cliffs above , according to city lifeguards and fire personnel.
The man fell after he had hiked down onto the cliffs about 10:10 a.m. Saturday, according to lifeguard and fire officials.
Lifeguards who climbed up to the man's location and a paramedic who was lowered down from the helicopter treated the man. He was hoisted off the cliffs and taken to a hospital, said Lt. John Everhart of the San Diego Lifeguard Service.
