Update: Woman Found in La Jolla Ravine Dies En Route to Hospital

A young woman was found fatally injured in a ravine near La Jolla's Birch Aquarium on Monday morning police said.

Firefighters were sent to the 2300 block of Expedition Way at 7:15 a.m. on a report of a fall, according to a dispatcher.

The woman died en route to a hospital, according to UCSD police.

It was unclear how the woman was injured. San Diego police were handling the death investigation.

On Sunday about 5:20 p.m., a 25-year-old woman identified as Anna Bachman of Chicago fell to her death from Sunset Cliffs between Ladera and Carmelo streets. She apparently was taking pictures with her sister when the accident happened.
