Pedestrian Hit and Run Reported in Windansea

A 51-year-old pedestrian was struck while crossing La Jolla Boulevard near Westbourne Street.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle crossing the 7000 block of La Jolla Boulevard in Windansea on Wednesday evening. The 51-year-old pedestrian was walking eastboucnd at 6:23 p.m. when a SUV failed to yield to the pedestrian in the crosswalk, according to San Diego Police, and struck him.

Sgt. David E. Jennings reported that the driver of the SUV stopped, got out of the vehicle, looked at the victim and then left the scene.

The suspect was described as a while man in his 30s. Police said he was 6 foot 2 and approximately 200 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a green flannel shirt.

Police said the SUV vehicle was a dark colored mid-sized SUV with a partial license plate of #5DZ.

The victim suffered a pelvic fracture, internal organ damage and facial injuries, according to police.
