Child Falls to Rocks Near Children's Pool

Fire officials say the child has been taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 11-year-old child fell about 15 feet off a cliff just north of the Children's Pool in La Jolla and landed on some rocks below today, lifeguards said.

The fall occurred at about 11:45 a.m., according to San Diego city lifeguards.

The child was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, a San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatcher said. NBC San Diego reported rescuers responded to the 1200 block of Coast Boulevard and that the injuries were not life threatening.
