Update: Body Discovered Behind Jonathan's Market
No foul play is suspected at this point.
Updated at 12:25 p.m., Jan. 11: Police looked at video from the store and saw images of a tractor- trailer backing into the alley, leading them to believe the truck hit the garbage bin and pushed it into the man, San Diego police spokeswoman Lt. Andra Brown said.
It was unclear if authorities were able to identify the truck from its license plate. The driver had not been found as of about noon. Brown said she did not know why the driver pulled in behind the store. The driver may have been lost or turning around, she said. It was unclear if the video gave investigators the rough time of the accident.
The body of a man was discovered behind a La Jolla market early today but foul play was not immediately suspected, police said.
