Biplane Makes Emergency Landing at Torrey Pines Golf Course

No one was injured in the emergency landing.

The pilot of a biplane with engine trouble made a smooth, non-injury emergency landing today at Torrey Pines Golf Course.

The Travel Air 4000 touched down on a northern green at the ocean-front municipal golf course about 11:30 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

"None of the three people on board was injured, and there was no damage to the aircraft," FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said.

The plane is owned by Daniels Aviation Inc., which is based at Montgomery Field airport in Serra Mesa, according to registration records.
