Accident on N. Torrey Pines Leaves Motorcyclist with Spinal Injury

San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division is investigating an accident that occurred on North Torrey Pines Road on Tuesday evening.

Several people were injured in an accident that involved a motorcyle and vehicle on Tuesday. San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division reported that the driver of a Yamaha motorcycle rear-ended a Jetta on North Torrey Pines Road at 7:32 p.m.

SDPD said the driver of the 2012 Jetta with several passengers was driving northbound on North Torrey Pines Road when he was struck from behind.

The motorcyclist, an unidentified white male in his 20s, was driving with a passenger, a female, also in her 20s. He suffered from a spine fracture and the passenger a broken hip, according to police.

A male in his 50s drove the Jetta. The passengers suffered minor injuries, according to the police report.

SDPD’s Traffic Division is investigating the accident.
