3-Acre Brush Fire Breaks Out in La Jolla

A total of 50 firefighters fought a blaze near the 6000 block of Bellevue Avenue in the Muirlands neighborhood of La Jolla on Saturday evening.

A brush fire that burned through three acres of hillside on the 6000 block of Bellevue Avenue near Folsom Drive in La Jolla on Saturday is under investigation, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

The fire was reported at approximately 8 p.m. No homes were threatened by the fire and no injuries were reported, said Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Maurice Luque.

It took 50 firefighters an hour to contain the fire. A SDFD helicopter made water drops to fight the blaze.
