Since 1991, the Vision of Children Foundation has been a pioneering force in vision research. Their mission is to cure hereditary childhood blindness and other vision disorders and to improve the lives of visually impaired individuals and their families. This foundation has strong goals of disseminating information on the detection and treatment of diseases that impair vision in children, stimulate academic research on these rare conditions, educate the community on early warning signs of ocular diseases in newborns, and to serve as support to families of blind and visually impaired children.

“With proper funding, we are able to direct and sponsor scientific research which will lead to the prevention and treatment of these conditions,” said Vivian Hardage, founder of the Vision of Children foundation. “Additionally, we're able to serve as an information source for the medical community, the public, and families affected by genetic vision disorders.”
