Our authority figures will not always do what we want and they may make "unfair" decisions, but we are called to reserve judgment and remember some important facts about our true Authority.
People can get very passionate about politics, can’t they? Radical responses about our authorities or their policies do not necessarily expose what’s wrong with those things, but rather what is in our hearts as their critics. There is nothing wrong with passion (in fact, God prefers our passion to our apathy) and there is nothing wrong with being involved in politics and government, but the problem comes when those passions cause us to sin. Passion without love and self-control can causes us to say things we shouldn’t say, hate other people, and stir so much anger in us that we compromise our witness for Jesus.
The Exposed series takes a close look at the “cult of personality” that occupies so much of pop-culture’s time and focus. We are quick to judge politicians and celebrities and be entertained by their downfall, yet in reality our lives are often just as broken.
