Solve two sample questions from the new math assessments. They are included in the August 2013 edition of La Jolla Math Learning Center's newsletter at http://p0.vresp.com/5HbeKX.
One sample test question is at the fifth grade level and involves a volume calculation. It is an application problem that shows an empty tank with the dimensions of length, width and depth shown. In a traditional question, the student would simply be asked to calculate the volume of the tank. In this question, the student is asked to figure out how full the tank would be if a given about of dirt is added.
