Great San Diego County Date Ideas That Won't Leave You Broke

Check out these great date activities in San Diego, all under $40.

Coming up with creative date ideas can be a challenge, but when you're on a budget (like many of us are) it's even more so. The good news is, there are countless things to do in San Diego besides going out for dinner and drinks, which can add up quickly.

Check out my favorite local date activities, all under $40!

Outdoors:

If you're a lover of the outdoors, what better place to be than San Diego? Activities I love: catching the sunset on the beach at Sunset Cliffs, bird watching at the Free Flight Exotic Bird Sanctuary in Del Mar, or renting a couple of Electric Bikes from Ivan Stewart's Electric Bike Center and cruising around Little Italy and the San Diego Harbor.

Museums:

There are a lot of great museums to check out all around San Diego. Some of my favorites: The Maritime Museum of San Diego, LUX@Night in Encinitas or the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad

A Movie or Live Play:

Looking for something a bit different than the typical movie date? Head to a live play or even a more "un-traditional" movie theatre. New Village Arts in Carlsbad has a great line-up of live plays featuring some of San Diego's greatest acting talent or head to The Pearl Hotel's Dive-In Theatre, where you can watch eclectic films poolside.

Adventure:

If you're the adventure-type, Laser Tag or Paint Ball are two really fun date activities. I especially like Atlantis Laser Tag and Velocity Paint Ball.

As you can see, there are tons of ways to keep your dating life interesting and still have money in your pocket.

Thank you for telling people about FreeFlight Bird Sanctuary. It is truly one of San Diego's undiscovered gems.
