Thousands are doing it. You should do it too. Get shoeless.
Join Patch Editors , , and in One Day Without Shoes, an awareness campaign by TOMS Shoes. The goal of the annual event is to spread awareness of the millions of children around the world that don't have shoes to support and protect their feet, the base of our bodies.
TOMS, a company that has incorporated a socially responsible mission to their business plan, donates one pair of shoes for every pair purchased.
Numerous companies and celebrities have pulled off their kicks for One Day Without Shoes. Companies include AOL (Patch's parent company), Discovery and Nordstrom. Some celebrities that have participated are Lenny Kravitz and Charlize Theron. TOMS reported that 1,400 companies and 500 schools participated in the event last year. In addition, more than 1,000 events were planned across 25 countries.
So now we challenge you. Please participate in One Day Without Shoes. Let your feet breathe for even a few hours and upload a photo to share your accomplishments. Extra respect will be given for feet in rare places and to soles with a nice shade of dirt.
