La Jolla Home Theater is holding a special event for kids on May 12.

What do you get when you combine kids with technology? Find out this weekend at !

The local techie store will be hosting an event called "" on May 12. La Jolla Home Theater & Automation (LJHT&A) is teaming up with Kaleidescape and Kid Ventures for this educational event for parents and children in the San Diego community.

LJHT&A is a local Apple Authorized Reseller and certified Apple Experts will be educating parents about Internet safety, setting app limits, parental controls and more. Parents can also learn how to turn the iPad into a teaching tool for their children.

Kaleidescape, a company that designs and manufactures the world's leading DVD and Blu-ray movie servers, will be providing hands-on demonstrations of their kids' remote and media system. Guests will be able to preview the new child user interface and explore the first movie server specifically designed for young children.

Finally, Kid Ventures, which specializes in boutique-style indoor family play centers, will have a booth with technology related crafts, as well as information and passes for their indoor play center.

Ready to learn about the benefits of combining kids with technology? Head over to La Jolla Home Theater & Automation on May 12 from noon-4 p.m. Discounts will be available on kid friendly products, like non-toxic cases and screen protectors for iPads and iPhones, and a barbecue lunch will keep everyone satisfied during the event.
