It was Sept. 8, 2011 in the early afternoon. All of a sudden all the power went out. For many of us, we felt it would only last a couple minutes. Then a couple minutes turned into an hour and an hour into several, then a whole day. This got me thinking about how ill-prepared I was in the event of any major emergency. It made me take action. Please read a recent article written in the La Jolla Light about what I am trying to put together for my own community I live in. We can do this for many others, but I need support. We could all use this idea to prepare ourselves for an emergency that we can't even plan for or think of.
