What's in A Name? La Jolla Parade Committee Says 'Christmas'

Tell us in the comment section below. Should the La Jolla Christmas Parade update its name?

The 56th annual La Jolla Christmas Parade will stroll through the Village on Sunday with holiday cheer, but some think the event's name needs to be changed.

The suggestion to change the name from the La Jolla Christmas Parade to the La Jolla Holiday Parade has been in the works for several years now. Area residents have urged the Parade Committee to change the "Christmas" moniker because they say it excludes many other holidays celebrated in December, including Hanukkah.

One parade-goer went as far as calling the annual event "anti-semitic" and the San Diego Human Relations Commission has offered to help resolve the debate over the parade name.

Do you think the parade name should change? Tell us in the comment section below. And let us know what a new name could be.
