Have an Eggcellent Weekend: Attend an Easter Festivity in La Jolla

From egg hunts to Sunday brunch, La Jolla Patch hand-selected the best family-friendly events happening in your area this Easter.

Easter is only a hop, skip and a jump away—don't miss out on the chance to have some family fun in your community this year. Check out where the Easter bunny is laying his eggs in La Jolla.

  • La Jolla Recreation Center invites families to its La Jolla Spring Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30. Kids ages 2 and older can participate in a free egg hunt, art and crafts, receive a free goodie bag and pose for photos with Peter the Rabbit for $3. 615 Prospect St., La Jolla 92037, 858-552-1658, sandiego.gov
  • The Birch Aquarium at Scripps will host special hands-on activities that highlight reproduction in the ocean during its Spring EGGstravaganza from 11 a.m.—3 p.m. on Saturday, March 30. Meet egg-laying marine animals and their eggs, including sharks, fishes and squids. Youngsters can also create a shark egg craft, listen to story times and participate in a unique underwater egg hunt (included with admission). 2300 Expedition Way, La Jolla 92037, 858-534-347, aquarium.ucsd.edu
  • The San Diego Dive Club will be hosting its Annual Underwater Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, April 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. The egg hunt will take place near the Marine Canyon at La Jolla Shores. Prizes will be awarded to diver teams that find the most eggs. While the divers head down to the water, children are invited to participate in a Children’s Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at Kellogg Park. 858-560-6755, dive-club.org
  • Cusp Dining & Drinks, nestled at the top of Hotel La Jolla, will be serving a family-friendly Easter Brunch Buffet for $25 with $12 bottomless mimosas on Sunday, April 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids under 10 eat for free and can have fun with their food at the Pancake Decoration Station.   • Roppongi Restaurant and Sushi Bar will also be serving a Easter Sunday Brunch on March 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The special brunch menu will feature bottomless mimosas and brunch cocktails.
