Most International Education Week events at UC San Diego are free with no registration required.

UC San Diego celebrated International Education Week with a colorful flag parade on Tuesday. Students and staff carried the the flags of UN member nations throughout campus.

The parade ended with an opening ceremony for the week, which runs through Friday, and worldly foods from vendors at the campus farmers market.

International Education Week, which formed in 2000 by the U.S. Department of State and the Department of Education, emphasizes the benefits of educational exchange across borders and spotlights the importance of increasing student knowledge and awareness of the world’s cultures, peoples and languages.
