It's Not too Late to Celebrate Earth Day in San Diego County

Several events will be held Sunday, April 27 in San Diego County.

Earth Day and Week celebrations are scheduled to get underway this morning in Balboa Park, downtown Oceanside and in the Palomar Mountain State Park.

Palomar Mountain State Park will celebrate Earth Day, which was Tuesday, April 22, with a day of service. Volunteers will gather at 8:30 a.m. to maintain and groom the park's historic apple orchard, and control invasive plant species like bull thistle or mullein.

Children ages 10 and under can sign up to be "litter getters," according to park officials.
