Survivor Beach is 6 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Sunday day in La Jolla Shores. Stand-up paddleboarders can still register to participate.

Come out to SUPport the fight against cancer in La Jolla Shores on Sunday, June 2. UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center will host its 7th annual Survivor Beach on Sunday, June 2 and this year the event will feature a stand-up paddleboard competition (SUP).

Survivor Beach honors those who have fought cancer.

Beach activities include SUP clinics, comments from inspiring cancer survivors, dance performances by Heali’i’s Polynesian Revue, food trucks and a live DJ.

Participants can also line their surfboards from nose to tail to create a visual display of their support in the quest to conquer cancer.

“Set along the gorgeous coastline of La Jolla, Survivor Beach demonstrates the power and strength that results from coming together to fight cancer,” said Alex Panici, chair of the 7th annual Survivor Beach in an announcement. “This year, Survivor Beach offers added fun with stand-up paddleboard events for everyone from the most elite to the newest paddlers.”

Survivor Beach starts at 6 a.m. and continue until 12:15 p.m. at the beach in front of Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

The festival is free and open to the public.

The cost to participate in the open race is $25 and  $50 for elite racers. You can register online at survivorbeachsup.org.
