Join Patch for a Beach Cleanup in La Jolla Shores

Please come out to volunteer on Monday, July 22 at 6:30 p.m. The group will meet in Kellogg Park.

With the surge of summer visitors to La Jolla beaches, more trash has been seen on the sand and in nearby parks. Please join Patch in helping to keep our neighborhood clean—attend our beach cleanup on Monday evening.

A group of Patch editors (in green Patch t-shirts) will meet in Kellogg Park south of the La Jolla Shores Lifeguard Station at 6:30 p.m. Please bring your own reusable bucket or bag and gloves to collect your booty. We will be sure to bring extra bags and gloves for participants.

According San Diego Coastkeeper and the Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter, cigarette butts, Styrofoam and plastic are still the top three most common items cleaned up from San Diego County’s beaches.

We hope you can join our informal cleanup. Message lajolla@patch.com for additional questions.
