San Diego is hosting the first steampunk and Victoriana convention in Southern California. Steampunk is about imagined technologies, historical “what ifs” and clothes that gentlemen, inventors, adventurers and scientists might wear in alternate realities. The culture has entered the wider imagination through movies such as The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and The Wild, Wild West.
Events include a masked ball, Steampunk concert, a tea, dance, lectures, art show, Mother's Day ice cream social and Victorian fashion show.
Hours: Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
