Add-On Afternoon Swimming!
Offered All 8 Weeks
Kindergarten through Grade 6
A fee-based afternoon session offers swimming at the Coggan Aquatic Center. The Center’s swim instructors teach group lessons, and campers will be placed in appropriate swim-level groups and learn skills that will improve their swimming ability. After the lessons, the campers will have free swim time under the supervision of a certified lifeguard and the Gillispie teachers. The Center is conveniently located at La Jolla High School; the students and their Gillispie teachers walk the not-quite-three blocks each way to/from swimming.
Early Childhood (EC) Day Camp
For Children Ages 3-5
New addition to the EC Camp! Every Wednesday, visiting instructors from Mad Science will conduct an exciting, hands-on science program for EC children to spark their curiosity and build their enthusiasm for science. Program topics will include: magnetic attraction, world of worms, energy and motion, and much more!
Our early childhood teachers are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, intellectual, and social development of the young child. The teaching staff includes several Gillispie faculty members who have a wealth of teaching experience, along with other experienced professionals. Children will enjoy an array of activities during camp, including indoor and outdoor games, water play, crafts, and dramatic play. EC day camp runs Monday through Friday, for one or two weeks.
