Murray Galinson passed away several days ago and America lost one of its favorite sons.
As was mentioned at the services held for him at Congregation Beth Israel, everyone who knew him thought of him as his best friend. He epitomized the word "nice." He had the unusual ability to treat everyone the same, be they celebrities or just folks. He always seemed glad to see you.
When he entered my life it seemed as though I'd already known him forever, and though I didn't realize it at the time, the man who entered my life was a giant. Now that he's gone, the void he leaves is gigantic as well.
My deepest condolences go out to his grandchildren, to his children, and to his beautiful, loving, patient, and extraordinarily accomplished wife Elaine.
