SD Mayoral Candidates to Address Jewish Community at Chanukah Breakfast in La Jolla

On Dec. 3, 2013, San Diego mayoral candidates David Alvarez and Kevin Faulconer will address the San Diego Jewish Community at a Chanukah Breakfast Forum at Congregation Beth El in La Jolla.

The event, hosted by the Jewish Community Relations Center of the Jewish Federation of San Diego County, and Jewish Family Service, is the flagship of the new Community Connections series which aims to engage and educate the Jewish community around public policy and government affairs. At the event, the candidates will meet the Jewish community, share their platform and priorities, and answer questions from those in attendance.

The forum will be moderated by Rabbi Phillip Graubart of Congregation Beth El, with a welcome from Interim Mayor Todd Gloria.

"The breakfast provides a tremendous opportunity for San Diegans and the candidates to get to know one another better," said Interim Mayor Todd Gloria.  "I believe lasting connections will be made at the breakfast, which will fortify the collaborative approach that is necessary for additional progress for our City."

The mayoral forum is an unprecedented collaboration of the Jewish community, which has convened more than 35 community partners including local synagogues, institutions and non-profits to support the event.
