Visual arts graduate students Elmira Mohebali, Sara Solaimani, and Sara Mameni are featured in a Performing Iran, a conference sponsored by the Iran Media Program at the Center for Global Communication Studies, Third World Studies, UC San Diego and the Program for the Study of Religion, UC San Diego.
Mohebali and Solaimani's theatrical talk looks at rooftop chanting after Iran's 2009 election, the performance is titled "Segregated Gaze: The Constructed Gender Divide in the Taziyeh Audience."
Mameni will present "The Problem-Solving Nuts Ajeel Moshkel Gosha): Loss, Incorporation and Transnational Feminism after the Iranian Revolution."
