La Jolla Christmas Parade and Holiday Festival

La Jolla Christmas Parade and Holiday Festival Schedule of Events:

• Equestrians Begin to Arrive at 10 a.m.
• Judging of Floats at noon
• Antique Aircraft Fly over
• Parade Begins at 2 p.m.
• Holiday Festival Begins at 3:30 p.m.
• Photos with Santa at Rec Center at 3:30 p.m.
• Christmas Tree Lighting at 4:30 p.m.

The La Jolla Parade Foundation said this year's parade is shaping up to be the best ever with more than 100 entries, including beauty queens in vintage vehicles, a dozen bands, 60 equestrians and several thousand kids marching in various groups (Girl Scouts, Brownies, Gymnastics, Boy and Cub Scouts, school marching bands and color guards).

Floats are judged and trophies are given for various categories.
