Internationally Famous Venice Baroque Orchestra Performs in La Jolla on Feb. 11

The Venice Baroque Orchestra comes to St. James as part of its U.S. tour, which includes Disney Hall and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Recognized as one of the premier ensembles devoted to period instrument performance, the orchestra has received wide critical acclaim for its concert and opera performances throughout North America, Europe, South America, Japan, and Korea. 

The Venice Baroque Orchestra was founded in 1997 by Italian organist, harpsichordist, and conductor Andrea Marcon, one of the most acclaimed musicians in early music. Featured soloists in La Jolla will be Daniele Bovo, cello; Alessandro Denabian, horn; Michele Favaro, flute and oboe; Anna Fusek, recorder; Shai Kribus, oboe; and Giordano Pegoraro, cello. The program will include works by Vivaldi, Veracini, and Gemanini.
