El Abuelo and With Me, two films produced by San Diego based Drama House Productions, will be shown on Saturday, January 19 at 7 p.m. at The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla. Both films are based on the experiences of autistic children and were filmed with the hopes of spreading awareness of this disorder, which affects 1 in every 88 children.
The event is open to the public and all proceeds will benefit two local, non-profit organizations, The Arch Academy and Tender Loving Canines Assistance Dogs. Both organizations provide services to those with autism spectrum disorder.
A question and answer with local filmmakers and educators will follow the screening.
