Documentary & Q&A at A16 - Intersection of military service & climate disruption

“Mission
Outdoors: Glacier National Park,” a 12 minute documentary by Extreme Ice Survey Director and award-winning
filmmaker James Balog, follows a team of eight military veterans, in the company of world-class mountaineer
and The North Face athlete Conrad Anker, on an expedition through Glacier
National Park to study climate change and learn about the environment in the
country they served.

The
short film explores the value of America’s public lands for service members and
veterans, and why the country they defended in uniform needs continued defense
to keep landscapes wild and healthy for future generations.

Captain Stacy Bare, Major Joshua Brandon and
Lance Corporal Cathleen Ephgrave will lead a Q&A following the screening.

“Mission Outdoors:
Glacier National Park” demonstrates that time spent outside is advantageous
to veterans healing and reintegrating at home.

Attendees will be entered in a raffle to
win gear from Black Diamond, Vasque and The North Face.  Free copies of Sierra magazine will also be given out.
