Beth Israel of San Diego Dinner Forum - Featured Speakers Kelli Denton and Jon Schwartz

The Men’s Club and Caring Committee of Beth Israel of San Diego are pleased to co-sponsor the May Dinner Forum which will be held on May 21st at 6:30 pm. The featured speakers for the Forum will be Ms. Kelli Denton RN who is the Director of Seacrest at Home, a new program being offered through Seacrest Village Retirement Community located in Encinitas. Joining Kelli will be one of her associates Jon Schwartz who is the community liaison at Seacrest at Home.

The new home care program available through Seacrest Village will be of interest to those of us who may have a future need for special care for ourselves, parents or grandparents. This program offers assistance such as daily support at home for such activities as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal planning, light housekeeping and laundry. They also provide errand shopping (in client vehicles), or will provide escorts to medical and other appointments. There are many other services offered through this new “at home” program that Kelli and Jon will elaborate on at the Dinner Forum.

Seacrest at Home’s  new program should especially be of interest to those of us who may have such needs in the future or who have family members living in the San Diego and Orange County areas that can use this type of support from such a well-known and respected organization. In Orange County the program is known as Heritage Pointe at Home, and is an affiliate of Heritage Pointe Retirement Community, located in Mission Viejo. Please join us on May 21st to learn more about what this new home care program has to offer.

Kelli moved to Southern California from Western New York to launch Seacrest at Home in 2012, as the Director of Home Care.  Kelli has 30 plus years of nursing experience including oncology, infusion therapy, home health and home care. She has received certification by the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), OASIS Certificate and Competency Board (OCCB) as well as an executive leadership certification from e-Cornell University. Kelli received her Baccalaureate in Health Care Administration from Empire State College. She currently is a member of the Professional Advisory Committee for Kaplan College.

Jon began working for Seacrest at Home in February of 2013 as the Community Liaison.   Jon’s task is to spread awareness to our community about the importance of successful aging and specifically, in-home caregiving.  Jon holds a BS in Entrepreneurship from Indiana University as wells as a MS in Gerontology from USC.  At USC, his emphasis was focused on how to reduce admission to institutionalized care facilities, such as hospitals and nursing homes.

Dinner Forums are open to the entire San Diego community, both men and women. The fee: $14 with an RSVP, $17 without an RSVP, includes a deli dinner. You can RSVP via the following link https://secure.jotformpro.com/form/40834659815969 or contact Judi Schwartz at 858-900-2598.
